On Tuesday, Sept. 20, 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell visited the set of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' in order to promote his newest singing competition reality series. Cowell took the time to greet some of his fans outside, and TMZ caught the British music mogul poking fun at the most recent 'American Idol' winner, country singer Scotty McCreery.

Cowell, who parted ways from 'American Idol' right before Scotty's season, began discussing his British accent. When asked if living in the states has affected his English dialect, Cowell responded, "I've lived here 10 years. I don't know." As he puffed away on a cigarette, the 'X Factor' judge continued, "I do an American accent." Cowell then began talking in a heavy Southern accent, saying, "Y'all gonna love this. I love you this big."

Although it might not be obvious to some people, Cowell is actually taking a shot at McCreery's debut single 'I Love You This Big,' which he performed on the 'American Idol' finale. The song is a country ballad, and apparently Cowell isn't a fan of the tune. Why else would he be mocking it?

If it isn't Scotty that Simon is personally making fun, his comment is definitely geared to diss 'Idol.' Perhaps he didn't agree with the new judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, and their opinions. Or perhaps Cowell feels as if 'X Factor' is now superior to 'Idol,' or that the talent on 'Idol' this past season wasn't up to his high standards.

We'll just have to wait and see if 'American Idol' and McCreery strike back at the Brit!
