Charice covers Eric Carmen's classic ballad 'All By Myself' on this week's episode of 'Glee' -- following the arrangement made popular by Celine Dion in her hit 1996 remake -- with a powerful, soaring chorus and huge strings complementing the final hook.

It's a bit odd to hear the 18 year old sing the world-weary opening line, "When I was young, I never needed anyone / And making love was just for fun / Those days are gone." But chances are Gleeks will overlook that as they enjoy Charice's return to the show in the role of Sunshine Corazon.

Charice impresses with her ability to belt out the high notes, though when it comes to covering 'All By Myself,' the Filipino singer/actress has a tough act to follow, as 'American Idol' contestant Pia Toscano blew away the judges with her stunning live rendition last month.

Carmen took 'All By Myself' to No. 2 in 1976, while Dion's version reached No. 4 two decades later. The tune is one of four songs on the track list for tomorrow's new 'Glee' episode 'A Night of Neglect,' along with Gwyneth Paltrow singing Adele's 'Turning Tables.'
