Rihanna‘s Twitter feud with Chris Brown‘s girlfriend Karrueche Tran has gone to absurd levels, with fans now sending death threats to Tran on the social-networking website. According to TMZ, some of the violent tweets read, “I hope Rihanna beat the dog s— outa yo a–,” “Watch yo back” and “I will kill you.”

This whole thing may have been started when RiRi posted a photo of a rice cake wearing sunglasses and earrings with the caption, “Ima make u my b—-.” If you don’t know, Tran, who is Vietnamese, ignored the joke, but now she is concerned for her safety.

Sources tell TMZ that after receiving a barrage of violent messages on Twitter, Tran is in fear of her life and refuses to leave the house without Brown’s bodyguards protecting her. Like a good boyfriend, Breezy is comforting Tran and is assuring her that she has nothing to worry about.

However, looking at Tran’s timeline on Twitter, it seems as if Breezy’s boo is unfazed by any threatening messages towards her. When one of her tweeps asked her if she is scared of Rihanna’s crazy fans, Tran replied “GTFOH.” She also wrote, “Never be afraid to be yourself.”

The real lesson here — stop hating on Twitter and be more productive with your life.

Generally speaking, most 42-year-old mothers of twins would find it difficult to pull off a look that involves skin-tight leather pants, a sparkling shirt, and/or cornrows, but Jennifer Lopez plays by a different set of rules — and to prove it, she danced around in the aforementioned wardrobe while shooting her latest video in Acapulco, Mexico.

The clip, said to be for Lopez’s next single ‘Follow the Leader,’ was filmed with reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. She tweeted from the set, telling followers, “2nd Video in Mexico with @wisinyyandel #FollowTheLeader Love it here! #LosLideres Siempre al frente!”

She was joined on the set by her latest boyfriend, 24-year-old former backup dancer Casper Smart, who is apparently directing the video. The Daily Mail snapped a steady stream of pictures of the lovebirds getting cozy between takes. They looked like they were having a fine time — which is pretty much how you look if you’re cuddling up in sunny Acapulco instead of sitting cooped up at the ‘American Idol‘ judges’ table.

The new single will likely come attached to Lopez’s next greatest hits release, scheduled for later in 2012. It’s shaping up to be a busy year for the actress/singer/entrepreneur, who will appear in the upcoming films ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ and ‘Ice Age 4′ while maintaining her duties on ‘American Idol’ and the Latin talent series ‘Q’Viva! The Chosen,’ which she’s co-producing with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Madge has issued another minute-long preview clip from ‘MDNA.’ Today’s snippet is for ‘Superstar,’ which reportedly features her daughter Lourdes. It’s not clear exactly how the teen factors into the song, but the prevailing speculation is that she’s a background vocalist. When Madonna is your mom, these type of opps present themselves.

The first few seconds of the preview are hard and semi-industrial, with crunchy effects and more distortion on the Material Girl’s vocals. But then it morphs into a frothy, fun dance cut where Madge coos “You’re my gangster” and “You’re my angel” before belting out a few “Ooh la las.” We think she says “You’re Abe Lincoln,” too, because “you fight for what’s right.” We’re already planning to play this at our backyard BBQ on Memorial Day.

It’s another sexalicious taste of ‘MDNA’ and at this point, these teasers are like foreplay. They get us all hot and bothered, and leave us wanting more, more, more. Something tells us that was Madonna’s intention. Like we said earlier, the biggest pop star on the planet is a tease. But she’s earned that right. We’re all just willing playthings in her world.

Carly Rae Jepsen has been the center of attention since signing to Justin Bieber‘s new record label, but with her newfound fame comes annoyances like Twitter hacking.

The poor singer-songwriter became the latest victim of a hacker, who tapped into Jepsen’s account and tweeted “Bieber my balls” multiple times. Both the ‘Call Me Maybe’ singer and The Biebs commented on what went down.

Bieber also helped to notify fans of the imposter tweets by sending out a message to his 18 million-plus followers.

We agree that it was a “strange hack,” but we’re not entirely surprised that it happened. The hacker succeeded in getting both Jepsen’s and Bieber’s attention, which was likely his or her goal all along. The 26-year-old can commiserate with good company, though — Lady Gaga, Nelly Furtado and Dianna Agron have all been victims of hacking in recent months.

However, it looks like order has been restored. Hours after the incident, Jepsen tweeted, “See you honeys in the morning. Bubble bath and bed for me. Dream sweet. xo.”

Simpson and his guest rapper make heavy use of Auto-Tune throughout the song. While the 15-year-old obviously doesn’t need the gimmick, he’s going for a more current style, and the vocal technique fits the R&B-influenced track, which finds the young singer wooing a potential girlfriend.

The hook brings a huge, wobbling computerized bassline, while Simpson sings simply, “So listen to me / So listen / Listen to my heartbeat.” T-Pain raps, “I’m just trying to love you / Can I get a witness? / Let the church say amen / Cause I know that you need a man / And Im gon’ do whatever I can / To stop with all the dissin’ / Get to the kissin’ / Baby you know what you missin.’”

‘So Listen’ carries an understated, ultra-cool vibe, much like Joe Jonas‘ ‘Just in Love,’ and somehow finds a home at the intersection of R&B, hip-hop, teen pop and electronic dance music. It’s not a perfect fit for Simpson, but he doesn’t sound out of his element, either. It appears that the Aussie singer has found a new sound he can grow into.

‘So Listen’ is available now on iTunes. The song is expected on Simpson’s next album, which is due later this year.

The April 2012 cover of Vogue has leaked and immediately spread across several media outlets (like Huffington Post), as it features hot mama Jennifer Lopez smoldering in a red dress with crimson lips. The actress/singer/dancer/clothing designer/’American Idol‘ judge/mom of twins nixes her signature bronze goddess glow and normally nude, glossy lips in favor of Old Hollywood glam.

J. Lo follows Adele’s March cover and Taylor Swift’s February cover, so the fashion bible has had quite a musical run with its last three issues. It’s also La Lopez’s second time gracing the cover in her long and illustrious career. Her Vogue debut was nearly seven years ago when she appeared in June 2005. ‘Bout time she is back on top, so to speak.

It’s the mag’s annual ‘Shape’ issue, with the cover tag revealing that Lopez will discuss divorce, motherhood and looking fabulously fit. That’s nothing new when it comes to interviews with the ‘American Idol’ judge, but we’re sure looking forward to seeing the rest of the photo spread and what priceless couture she pours her famous body (namely her round derriere) into!

Last year, it was revealed that wunderkind Justin Bieber was teaming up with actor/producer Mark Wahlberg, a former pop star himself, for a forthcoming basketball-themed film starring The Biebs. So, exactly where are they in the process? Well, according to Wahlberg, they are anticipating the script, which is mission critical the film’s possible and potential success.

“We’re waiting for the script,” Wahlberg, who will star alongside The Biebs in the film, told MTV News. “Waiting for the script. Every time I see [Bieber] or Scooter [Braun], I have to explain to them that it’s a bit of a process having the script written.”

The Biebs and his manager sound like they are anxious to get the project on its legs, but Wahlberg is focused on a quality script before taking the next step and going into actual production.

“It certainly [has to be] something that’s good enough to go and have green-lit and make right away,” he said. “But I think it will be well worth the wait.” We like how carefully Wahlberg, who is incredibly experienced when it comes to the craft of film, is handling this situation.

The film will feature The Berg as an aging basketball player and The Biebs as an up and comer. Wahlberg went with the teen for the film for a simple reason: Because his gut told him to! “I’m pretty intuitive,” he said. “I see the guy and spent time with him, and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him, and it’s there.”

That’s something millions of Beliebers already knew.

Adam Lambert has released three remixes for ‘Better Than I Know Myself’ that take his latest single in very different directions.

All three tracks keep the basic verse and chorus structure of the tune, but make drastic changes to the music. The Robert Marvin & Shearer version is a slow-paced, atmospheric remix with a Skrillex-esque dubstep breakdown.

Meanwhile, the Alex Ghenea remix utilizes a chilled-out beat that almost has an early ’90s R&B edge. The track lets the poppy melody and Lambert’s strong vocals shine through.

Finally, the Dave Aude remix is the most danceable of the three, combining chopped-up vocal clips with pulsing electro beats. The hard-hitting club sound will win over those hoping for a more rhythmic sound from the singer’s new music.

The remixes are available for purchase at Lambert’s official store, where fans can also pre-order Lambert’s second album, ‘Trespassing.’ ‘Better Than I Know Myself’ is the first single from that record, which is still waiting for a release date as the singer finishes up some last-minute additions to the record.

The new queen of rap now “owns pink,” according to hairstylist Terrence Davidson, who works with the ‘Super Bass’ singer on her wigs. She is a vision in a cotton candy beehive concoction, lavender lips, a pastel blue top and bright purple gloves. She looks like an Easter basket come to life. While many women avoid color and stick to safer, more neutral palettes, Minaj embraces the brighter side of life.

The inside spread features Minaj in shades of pink and orange, working it like only she can.

The wig lover spoke about her relationship with her locks, which date back to when she was just 9 years old. “I was doing every — and anything to it — putting in wads of gel and brushing it to the next century, and just thinking I was so cute,” she said. “I always thought I had an eye for that stuff.”

She also believed that hair lets you reinvent yourself, a philosophy she has carried with her to this day. Minaj hardly ever repeats her follicular adventures, keeping us guessing time and time again. “I had done something I thought was really, really, really cute, and I showed my neighbor,” she recalled. “She was like, ‘Why’d you do that to your hair?’ And I never forget what I said: ‘I’m someone new in this hair.’”

While Minaj shows us someone new on every single magazine cover she graces, she is doing other “new” things in her professional life. She has a fashion line in the works and music is just one key piece of the larger empire. “I had a little conversation with Jay-Z at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show,” Minaj admitted. “He said, ‘Congratulations on all your success.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m coming for you. I’m coming for your spot, Mr. Mogul.’”

Rapper Jay-Z brought Brooklyn to Austin, Texas with a thrilling concert at the SXSW festival. The hip-hop king headlined the American Express Sync Show on Monday (March 12) at the Austin City Limits Live venue, which was streamed online for millions of fans via YouTube.

“SXSW. Your welcome,” Hov told the crowd as he kicked off his 90-minute concert with ‘What More Can I Say?’ Dressed in all-black with a floral-printed snapback hat and Kanye West‘s custom-designed Air Yeezy 2 sneakers, Jay-Z held the audience in a rapture as he performed a medley of his classic songs.

From ’99 Problems’ to ‘Big Pimpin’ to ‘Dirt Off Your Shoulder’ to ‘Just Wanna Love You,’ Jay had the entire venue of people bouncing up-and-down non-stop. He continued the rapid pace of hits firing off songs like ‘On to the Next One,’ ‘Jigga (What’s My Name)’ and ‘Run This Town.’ “Do you like this pace?” he asked the crowd, in which they responded with an enthusiastic roar.

Midway through the set, Jay-Z slowed it down a bit with his introspective tracks like ‘Beach Chair’ and his most-anticipated number ‘Glory,’ his ode to his newborn Blue Ivy Carter. He concluded his thrilling set with a bevy of noteworthy tracks including ‘Hard Knock Life,’ ‘Empire State of Mind’ and finally ‘Encore.’

Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s lives may include a certain number of problems, but the widely reported copyright infringement lawsuit regarding their use of an uncleared sample in the track ‘The Joy’ is no longer one of them: the duo has settled the case.

TMZ reports that legal documents filed last week revealed the lawsuit’s dismissal, although details of the settlement were kept confidential. The case stemmed from Jay-Z and West sampling Syl Johnson’s 1967 track ‘Different Strokes’ without permission — and could hardly have come as a surprise, given the similar suits filed by Johnson against Michael Jackson, Jefferson Airplane and Cypress Hill.

More damning was Johnson’s allegation that West initially tried to obtain clearance for the sample on his ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ album, but ran out of time. Given Johnson’s previous working relationship with West, the case had the potential to turn seriously nasty, so it’s a relief that cooler heads prevailed and the parties were able to come to an agreement without tying up the courts for longer than strictly necessary.

In any event, the case didn’t seem to slow sales for Jay-Z and West’s album ‘Watch the Throne,’ which has sold over a million copies in the U.S. and spawned six hit singles along the way. Johnson’s latest release, issued in 2010, is the compilation ‘Syl Johnson: The Complete Mythology.’

Katy Perry is treating fans to a performance at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, and now she’s treating them to a preview of ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.’ Snippets of two new tracks and a megamix hit the web!

The first new song clip is from ‘Wide Awake,’ a midtempo ballad letting a jerk know he didn’t get the best of her (think ‘Part Of Me,’ but slower). While Perry insisted ‘Part Of Me’ wasn’t about her ex, Russell Brand — and we believe her, considering it was written and demoed back in 2010 — we’re not sure about ‘Wide Awake.’ Time will tell, but it’s timely. Perry sings, “Falling from cloud nine / Crashing from the high / I’m letting go tonight / I’m falling from cloud nine / I’m wide awake / I’m not losing any sleep / I picked up every piece / And landed on my feet / Don’t need nothin’ to complete myself.” That’s our girl!

The next bit is from ‘Dressing Up,’ an ode to bedroom role play. Perry muses about donning a nurse’s outfit, among other things, in this steamy dance track. Perry is a sultry seductress in this tune, owning her sex appeal but maintaining some of her signature silliness.

The third tidbit is from a megamix of all her No. 1 hits from the original ‘Teenage Dream.’ We get a glimpse of a seamless mashup of ‘California Gurls’ and ‘The One That Got Away.’ ‘Teenage Dream,’ ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ and ‘E.T.’ are rumored to be on the full version.

Based on what we’ve heard so far, we can’t wait for our favorite candy-colored starlet’s ‘Complete Confection’ to come out! The hit machine hits shelves and digital retailers on March 27.

Good news, Katy Perry fans! The blue-haired (for now!) starlet will take to the stage at the 25th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

“Katy Perry has doubly earned her position as kid favorite — through her music, of course — but also for reveling in an outrageous sliming on the show two years ago,” Marjorie Cohn, president of Original Programming and Development at Nickelodeon, said in a press release. “She works hard and plays hard, and that’s what makes her performance on the KCAs one to look forward to.”

Indeed, Perry is a fan favorite, up for multiple awards: ‘Firework’ is nominated for Favorite Song, while her voice in ‘The Smurfs’ earned her a Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie nod. To top it all off, Perry is also up for Favorite Female Singer!

British imports One Direction are also slated to perform on the show, which will be hosted by Will Smith. The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards airs on — you guessed it! — Nickelodeon on March 31 at 8PM ET.

Rapper Tyga is racking up magazine covers. The latest finds the Young Money artist on the cover of Urban Ink magazine along with rumored girlfriend, Blac Chyna. The lovely tatted-up couple are a perfect match for the magazine, which celebrates the art of tattooing and the celebs who proudly rock their ink.

Hip-Hop Wired posted a picture from their photo spread, which features the pierced-dimple model lying in bed with Tyga holding a director’s slate. You also probably recognized Chyna from her appearance in Tyga’s alternate video for ‘Rack City,’ playing a kidnapped biker chick. In Urban Ink’s cover story, the ‘Muthaf—a Up‘ rapper talks about his mentor Lil Wayne tattooing dots on his face and his loyalty to the YMCMB family.

In other news, Tyga recently unveiled his customized sneakers for Reebok on his Twitter account. Looking at the photo, the high-top sneakers are laced in gold and silver colors with a leather strip across the side. The kicks are part of the rapper’s seven-figure deal he signed with the sneaker company.

Tyga is currently on his Careless World tour, which hits Detroit and Chicago on Tuesday (March 13) and Thursday (March 15), respectively. The trek wraps up April 15 in New Orleans.

Madonna may be the Queen of Pop, but she rose to her rank around the same time as another legend: the late Whitney Houston. In a recent interview, Madge opened up about the loss of Houston and other stars taken before their time, including Amy Winehouse.

“I, probably like everybody else, was hit by this shocking sense of disbelief — especially with Whitney Houston,” Madonna told the Sun (quotes via Idolator). “It had not been a secret, the struggles Amy had been through — both brilliant, brilliant artists and obviously both huge losses. But when these things happen, I’m always shocked by the first thing you say — ‘It’s such a loss’ — which doesn’t quite cover it,” she mused. “Then you reflect and you think, ‘How did it happen? How did the people around them allow it to happen?’”

Madonna had more warm words for Houston, which may come as a bit of a surprise, seeing as Madge sometimes can appear to be a bit of an ice queen. “One thing I was struck by with Whitney Houston is I remember she sort of came out as a singer around the same time I did,” Madonna said. “I remember looking at her singing and hearing people talk about her, and just thinking, ‘Oh my God. She’s such a beautiful woman and my God, what an incredible voice. I wish I could sing like that,’” she gushed. So sweet!

Madonna also noted something many of Houston’s peers did: In addition to a beautiful voice and stunning looks, Houston also had a pure heart. “I just remember being extremely envious of her and also touched by her innocence.”
