Adele Got Ordained to Marry Her Friends — and Became Their Wedding Planner
Adele, international sweetheart, pulled out all the stops for her pals' recent wedding.
British comedian Alan Carr revealed during an interview on ITV’s This Morning that when he tied the knot with partner Paul Drayton in January, the “Hello” singer essentially became their wedding planner, singer, and minister. Not only did she host the ceremony at her Los Angeles home, plan the food and flowers, and sing during the couple's first dance, but she also got ordained so she could officiate the ceremony.
“She's known me and Paul for ages, and she said, ‘I want to do your special day. Let me do everything,’” Carr explained on the show. “So she did everything, and she got ordained, and she married us. She is the kindest, most sweetest, loveliest person ever.“
He went on to say that Adele was too private to share the story herself, but that he wanted to "tell everyone" because it was the "best day" of his and Drayton's life. The Grammy-winner even flew the newly weds to Las Vegas to see Celine Dion.
Afterward, Adele confirmed the news via Instagram. "Seeing as the cats out the bag. I married two of my best friends in January," she wrote alongside a photo of her from the day. "You know me any excuse to dress up."
