"Papa don't preach / I'm in trouble deep," Madonna repeatedly pleaded on her 1986 True Blue smash. Almost exactly thirty years later, Romanian Queen Alexandra Stan now echoes those very same sentiments with her brand new single, "I Did It, Mama!"

Granted, this one isn't really about an unexpected pregnancy or grappling with the decision of what to do with a baby — it's mostly just about getting your parents to like your bad boyfriend. Regardless, Alexandra Stan is officially the Madonna of Romania. There! Now we said it.

For those less informed of Stan's stellar career trajectory, the singer first shot to global pop superstardom with her the inescapable "Mr. Saxobeat" in 2010 — years before the horn invasion of Ariana Grande's "Problem" and Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty." She's released scores of solid dance-pop tunes ever since, from 2012's essential summer anthem "Lemonade" to this year's "We Wanna" with fellow member of Romanian pop royalty, Inna. (It was basically the Romanian equivalent of Shakira and Rihanna's "Can't Remember To Forget You.)

Her latest tune is every bit a bop as ever, as she urges her parents to accept her misunderstood new beau ("Don't hate Papa / He ain't like everyone thinks / Wait Papa / No bad boy whenever he is with me") — but ultimately, she stands her ground. "I did it, I did it, I did it, mama!" she defiantly sings on re-pea-pea-pea-pea-peat. It's an immediately infectious earworm, as with every Stan-pop masterpiece.

And, in true gay icon form, the video is a campy European mixture of '20s flapper style/old Hollywood glamour in fringe dresses and hot dudes sharing some serious sexual tension in briefs, white fishnets and boots (not mad at this look), plus some biker bad boys in some rather compromising positions.

It doesn't make much sense at all, and it doesn't have to — she's Alexandra Stan, damnit.
