Jimmy Iovine chose the second song for 'American Idol' contestant Lauren Alaina, and he picked the Band Perry's 2010 No. 1, Grammy-nominated country single, 'If I Die Young.' Alaina stumbled a bit during the performance, but definitely did the Kimberly Perry-penned tune justice.

As she hit the stage, Alaina started off vigorously, and we could have sworn we were listening to Perry herself singing the song if we closed our eyes. Alaina is still struggling a bit when it comes to maintaining her composure onstage, as she tripped up in one part of the song as someone clapped for her. However, the 16-year-old didn't fail to deliver a beautiful vocal performance, sailing through the majority of the song with grace and passion.

Jennifer Lopez usually tends to give Alaina constructive criticism, but she had nothing but good things to say to Alaina during the second round. "You, Lauren, have the most beautiful tone of our finalists," Lopez tells the 'Idol' contestant. Steven Tyler always has kind words for Alaina, and Randy Jackson also praised her for realizing when she tripped up. "You realized right away when you didn't hit the modulation at the right point," Jackson says, "Beautiful song for you."
