America Is ‘Amazed’ by Scotty McCreery on ‘Idol’ Tonight

It's down to the final three contestants on 'American Idol' tonight, and appropriately, they each have to sing three songs. For his personal song choice, country boy Scotty McCreery picked Lonestar's country ballad 'Amazed.'

Before McCreery hit the stage, wearing a denim jacket and leaning against a piano, 'Single Ladies' diva and this week's mentor, Beyonce, gave him a few tips, and also called the 17-year-old a "cutie pie." McCreery's first round performance was strong and full of the contestant's passionate, country-twanged vocals.

When it came time for judging, Steven Tyler was happy about seeing Scotty "get angry." Jennifer Lopez praised McCreery for using vibrato at the end of his notes. Jackson, once again, commended Scotty for sticking true to his country roots.

With two more rounds of songs to sing, we are curious if Scotty will indeed "just keep getting better."
