Angelina Jolie stars as the titular character Maleficent in the upcoming dark and brooding take on the Sleeping Beauty tale. With her horned head and sharp-shaped features, Jolie-as-Maleficent is unforgettable. Her EW cover is as scary as it is sexy. The feature also offers some big reveals.

Jolie, who had a double mastectomy last year, revealed another surgery is on the horizon, while one of the makeup artists explained how Lady Gaga inspired Jolie's look for the film.

"There’s still another surgery to have, which I haven’t (had) yet," Jolie said. She did not expand on the exact nature of the procedure, but she did say that the support she has received has been overwhelming.

“Wherever I go, usually I run into women and we talk about health issues, women’s issues, breast cancer, ovarian cancer," the mother of 6 said. "I’ve talked to men about their daughters’ and wives’ health. It makes me feel closer to other people who deal with the same things and have either lost their parents or are considering surgeries or wondering about their children. I was very, very moved by all the support and kindness from so many people."

As for how Gaga inspired Maleficient's makeup?

Well, Rick Baker, a MUA who worked on the film, said, "Angie liked the way Lady Gaga had her makeup done with triangular forms under the skin."

Gaga rocked those shapes under her skin when 'Born This Way' came out. A perfect example is her 2011 Billboard cover. Gaga's triangles are more dramatic and contrasted than Jolie's, but the inspiration is there.
