It was announced earlier this year that trade magazine Billboard would be resurrecting the Billboard Music Awards this year, and they aren't messing around, recruiting the A-list likes of Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and more to perform at the event.

The Billboard Music Awards, which honor artists based on their actual chart positions and sales statistics, as opposed to voting or popular opinion, have been on hiatus since 2007. What better way to exhume the awards show than with a star-studded, big talent event featuring some of the most recognizable names in pop music, like RiRi, J. Lo, Fergie and more? That's a lot of divas gathering in one room and here's to hoping that some duets -- planned or otherwise -- take place.

The show will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22. It will air live on the ABC television network. The Billboard Music Awards, which were usually held in December, are back in a big, big way, so make sure you tune in and watch the event as it unfolds!
