Watch Camila Cabello Sing Pre-Chorus of Ed Sheeran Collab, ‘The Boy’
Camila Cabello had a lot to celebrate on Monday (January 22). Her self-titled debut solo album is officially No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 chart after its January 12 release, selling 119,000 album-equivalents and her hit single, "Havana," featuring Young Thug topped the Hot 100 chart — marking the ex-FIfth Harmony member's first time atop the two most coveted charts.
The singer joined Billboard's Hot 100 Top 10 countdown Facebook Live stream to celebrate the feat, and while discussing the album she was asked about a song that didn't make the cut — a collaboration with Ed Sheeran entitled "The Boy."
The host asked Cabello if we could hear a snippet of what the song sounded like, and she obliged, giving an unrehearsed, a cappella preview of the song's pre-chorus. “Oh boy hold your tongue, I don’t want no apologies / ‘Cause we both know you’re thinking with what’s under your jeans,” she sang before stopping with an, "Okay," and a hand to the monitor.
Sheeran has spoken in detail about the collaboration, telling Brazilian personality Hugo Gloss it has a “James Brown-inspired funk to it.” He also referred to it as having “sass and big vocals. Camila has a voice that should really be shown off.” We hope that one day we'll be able to hear the song in full, but for now listen to the snippet below!
