Carly Rae Jepsen Covers Seventeen in Color
Carly Rae Jepsen and her blunt brown bangs cover the March 2013 issue of Seventeen. Even though Jepsen is 27, she maintains that lively, youthful energy, that fresh and adorbs look and that squeaky clean image that appeals to teenagers. She looks more than ready for spring in her colorful dress, too.
In addition to covering the mag, CRJ has been named a judge in the Pretty Amazing contest, which is the mag's nationwide search for its next real-girl cover star. PopCrushers, if you are interested, you can enter the contest by sharing your story of what makes you amazing -- we know, there are so many reasons -- and submit a photo here.
But back to CRJ. The issue lands on stands on Feb. 5, but we've got the scoop on what she said.
The girl behind summer 2012's biggest smash in 'Call Me Maybe' is a real girl just like the rest of us and wasn't always so sure she'd achieve success as an artist, which she craved.
Jepsen admitted, "In college there was a time I felt lost and had the blues. I wanted to write songs, but I didn’t know how to make it a career. But I also knew I’d be happy working eight minimum-wage jobs to try to pull it off. So I was doing every job imaginable to pay rent while I was pursuing this career. I guess I like the hunger of not knowing if things will work out."
She is living proof that if you work hard and stay focused, you can turn your dreams into your reality.
The Canadian cutie is also learning how to juggle time to enjoy life with a burgeoning career by emulating Justin Bieber, who "found" her. "Justin leads by example," Jepsen admitted. "I love that he works hard and has fun. I was in Paris promoting my new album, 'Kiss,' for three days with no time off. So I went out at four in the morning to go explore the entire city. I try to make moments happen that feel very special and memorable because that’s exactly how Justin does it."
She is, to quote her own song, having a 'Good Time!'
CRJ also opened up about her relationship with singer Matthew Koma. She's happy and it just feels … right. "When you meet the right person, you’re just like, 'Wow!'" the singer confessed. "I'm having the busiest year of my life and somehow I've met an amazing person who has been a grounding force. I don’t think anything can get in the way if you both really want it badly."
Hear that, girls? Carly is Pretty Amazing. Learn from her.
