Females have taken over the Best Pop Solo Performance category for the 2013 Grammy Awards! Adele, Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna have all been praised by the Recording Academy for outstanding vocals and audibly arresting beats on their standout singles of 2012, but which of these ladies do you think deserves the golden gramophone?

Adele might not be nominated in as many categories as she was in 2011, when she trampled all of the competition thanks to her acclaimed LP '21,' but she's still going to be a tough one to beat. She's in the running for her live version of 'Set Fire to the Rain,' but even Adele's amazing, soulful vocals might not be able to stand up against the monstrous force that is Carly Rae Jepsen's viral hit 'Call Me Maybe.' After all, it was the inescapable pop hit of 2012.

Katy Perry is also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for her deeply personal ballad 'Wide Awake.' It's one of her most powerful songs to date, both lyrically and musically, and the intensity with which she sings about looking at a relationship in hindsight hits a raw nerve for many listeners.

Speaking of songs that speak to a broad audience, Kelly Clarkson's 'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)' inspired many pop lovers in 2012. As always, Clarkson's strong and pitch-perfect voice blows you away, and the uplifting content of the lyrics and catchy, climactic beat had everyone coming back for more this past year.

Finally, Rihanna is also nominated for her Sia-penned single 'Diamonds,' one of the more unique Top 40 songs to impact in 2012. In her Bajan accent, RiRi sings from the heart about falling in love hard and fast as the intensity in her vocals builds with the swelling electropop beat. There's no question that 'Diamonds' is one of her most passionate pieces of work yet.

What do you guys think? Who deserves the 2013 Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance? Adele, Carly Rae, Katy, Kelly or Rihanna? Vote below and be sure to tune in to the Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 8PM on your local CBS affiliate.
