Carson Daly Speaks Out Against Britney Spears’ Management

Carson Daly has been interviewing musicians for more than a decade, so naturally the former MTV VJ was shocked when Britney Spears' management informed Daly that an upcoming interview scheduled with the pop diva had to be previewed before it aired to the public.

Daly was taken aback by the news, and he took to his official Twitter page a few days ago to vent: "I was jst TOLD my @britneyspears interview tomm on @ampradio MUST b pre-recorded & submitted 4 approval by HER mgmt b4 it can air! F THAT!"

Fans of the 'Femme Fatale' diva immediately began slamming Daly for his comments. One person wrote, "RT @BritFan684: @carsonjdaly oh shut up you irrelevant flop! it's called PR! bow 2 the f---in queen @britneyspears! you unprofessional b---- with bug eyes!"

One of Daly's followers called the television and radio personality "unprofessional" for writing about the PR issue on Twitter. Daly immediately responded: "unprofessional a--hole!I'M UNPROFESSIONAL? FAKING AN ENTIRE INTERVIEW?"

Daly went on to explain to his Twitter followers that he really likes Britney, and feels that her management is being overly cautious in trying to protect the singer. Daly calmly responded to less hateful tweets, writing, "@whataboutken thanks ken. I've known and supported her since she was 15. This has nothing to do w her. Just her ppl." He wrote to another follower: "@hausofnicole never that restricted. Even when I interviewed Michael Jackson, it wasn't anything like this...it's really insane."

The 'Last Call With Carson Daly' host also went on to say that he fully supported Britney, he was just very surprised by the interview restrictions. Daly tweeted, "@xproudofbritney jst shocked her mgmt won't let her do a normal interview. She probly doesn't even know."

We definitely have to agree with Mr. Daly. It is extremely odd for management to want to preview an entire interview before it airs. Usually, celebrity PR agents will let interviewers know if they can't ask certain questions, but to censor an interview in its entirety is a bit over the top. We wonder if Carson is right in saying that Britney probably doesn't know.
