Charlie Puth + Emily Luther Win 2011 PopCrush Music Award for Best Cover Song
Congratulations to Charlie Puth and Emily Luther! The YouTube sensations won the 2011 PopCrush Music Award for Best Cover Song, and rightfully so! The duo blew music lovers away with their beautiful rendition of Adele's 'Someone Like You,' appearing on talk shows like 'The Ellen Degeneres Show' and catching tons of buzz around the Internet for their viral video.
While there is no one who can deliver 'Someone Like You' quite like Adele herself, Puth and Luther set out to do their best when they caught word of a Perez Hilton cover contest. The duo teamed up for the first time ever to collaborate on the 'Someone Like You' cover, and since they uploaded the video to YouTube, the clip has had more than six million views.
With Puth on piano and Luther taking the lead with the vocals (Puth harmonizes with the songstress during certain points), this pair managed to create one of the most-watched and talked-about covers of the year. Puth and Luther had more than 35% of the fan votes in the Best Cover Song category for the 2011 PopCrush Music Awards, beating out people like 'Super Bass' cutie Sophia Grace Brownlee and 'Look at Me Now' famers Karmin.
