Cody Simpson Takes Home Three Blimps at Australian Kids’ Choice Awards

Cody Simpson is a huge star in the United States, but he recently received some major love in his homeland Down Under. The 'On My Mind' hitmaker snagged three blimps at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Australia.

On Oct. 7, the 14-year-old singer picked up three trophies at the Kids' Choice Awards. Simpson, who hails from Gold Coast, Queensland, won the Super Fresh award, the Aussie Musos award and the Awesome Aussie award at the ceremony.

Simpson was super stoked about his wins, and he expressed his excitement over Twitter. Simpson wrote, "thankyou. couldn't be happier tonight aye. 3 blimps. thanks to everyone who voted. #KCA's."

In true Nickelodeon fashion, Simpson was slimed at the 2011 Australian Kids' Choice Awards. In the picture below, Simpson is seen looking a bit frazzled as he walks backstage covered in slime -- however, the teen should know that sliming is reserved for the most revered pop stars, so it quite the honor to be splashed with the green goop.
