Miley Cyrus, Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry and Dolly Parton Team Up for Girl-Powered Grammys Tribute
Dolly Parton graced the stage at the 2019 Grammy Awards for a tribute to none other than herself.
The legendary musician was joined by Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town and Maren Morris in her first Grammys performance since 2001. Perry and Musgraves performed Parton's latest single, "Here You Come Again," from the Netflix original film Dumplin', alongside several other songs performances.
Watch, below:
Cyrus, Perry, Musgraves, Little Big Town and Morris each tackled other tracks from Parton's legendary discography, including "After The Goldrush" and more. Perry and Musgraves kicked off the performance, joined by Parton. Cyrus then appeared on stage for "Jolene," which she's performed a number of times in the past on her own. Finally, Little Big Town came out to perform "Red Shoes" from Dumplin' and "9 to 5."
The tribute comes after Parton was honored at the 2019 MusiCares event as the Person of the Year for all her accomplishments in music, as well as her work with the Dollywood Foundation and Imagination Library. She is the first country singer to be honored with the accolade.
During the event, Cyrus and Shawn Mendes performed a rendition of Parton's song, "Islands in the Stream." The performance was made all the more special because Cyrus is Parton's God Daughter. She and Mendes teased the performance by sporting matching leather jackets with Parton's face pained on the back.
