Drake (Sort Of) Apologizes to Kobe + Vanessa Bryant Over Offensive Rap Lyric
Kobe Bryant's wife, Vanessa Bryant, has finally responded to Drake's infamous rap line from Rick Ross' 'Stay Schemin'.' Drizzy's verse -- "B---- you wasn't with me shooting in the gym" -- was one of the most quoted verse of 2012. According to Bossip, Vanessa didn't like the rap lyric one bit.
At that time, Drake's line was a jab at Vanessa after news broke that her and Lakers b-baller Kobe Bryant were divorcing and she was getting half of his $300 million fortune. Vanessa never said anything publicly about Drizzy's off-the-cuff remark, but we've come to find out she was indeed angry about the ribald line. The Young Money star did publicly say that he didn't mean any harm with the line, but he also apologized to her, sort of, via text message.
Kobe's better half recently spoke out about Drake's rap line and apology in a rant on Instagram.
"I love when immature kids quote a rapper that has never been friends with Kobe and knows nothing about our relationship," wrote Vanessa. "Just shows how gullible they are. I don't need to be in the gym. I'm raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life."
"Since my husband isn't friends with Drake, we received a text of an apology forwarded from his manager," she continued. "It's done and over with and it's now time for people to THINK before speaking."
We agreed. It's been said and done. Now it's time for everyone to move on.
Oh, by the way, Kobe and Vanessa are currently still married. Take that Drake!
