Halsey Dishes on How ‘Manic’ Differs From Her Previous Work
Over the weekend Halsey decided to have an impromptu Twitter Q&A with her fans, where she dished on her upcoming album Manic. When asked if the new collection is better than her last album Badlands, she said yes — and then some.
Another fan was curious if any other songs sound like "Clementine," the track Halsey recently dropped to celebrate her 25th birthday, but don't expect any tunes to sound similar. "No 2 songs on the album are alike!" the pop star declared.
After the "Graveyard" singer divulged that Manic would be different than her previous work, a fan asked if that meant it'd be less theatrical. "Not necessarily," she said. "In a weird way it is. It gets very grand and delusional and colorful at times. And then some times it’s very *tiny voice* and straight up. It’s called MANIC!!! Haha"
During the first episode of her Road to Manic docuseries, Halsey also gave fans a hint of what to expect from her third record.
"You hear an album called ‘Manic’ and you think it’s going to be like, super sad and dark, but it’s not," Halsey told the camera. "It’s really colorful and kinda funny sometimes and it’s scary because it’s so much of me, so if people don’t like it, it feels like they don’t like me."
Manic is slated for a January 17, 2020 release. The next month, she plans to embark on a world tour to support the album.
