Halsey shared how Taylor Swift impacted her career and personal life in a new Twitter post that also took a stand against Scooter Braun.

The "Nightmare" singer shared that she is standing with Swift now that Braun owns the masters to Swift's first six albums following his purchase of Swift's previous record label, Big Machine.

On Sunday (June 30), Swift penned a letter about Braun on Tumblr, claiming he previously bullied her on social media. She also wrote that the president of Big Machine, Scott Borchetta, did not warn her of the purchase.

In an act of solidarity, Halsey wrote a letter to Swift, sharing that the pop star is a huge reason she insisted to write her own music in the first place.

"I believed if she [Swift] did it (in a way that made my teeth ache like cold water and my heart swell and my eyes leak) then I should too," Halsey wrote.

She also explained that songwriting is how to make someone truly feel, to "drag it from the pits of your heart" like Swift has been known to do.

"She deserves to own the painstaking labor of her heart," Halsey announced. "She has surpassed all expectations of what any artist is even capable of. She catapulted her stardom into the Milky Way."

Halsey opened up about how the music industry needs to change, as well: "And it turns my guts that no matter how much power or success a woman has in this life, you are still susceptible to someone coming along and making you feel powerless out of spite. It speaks volumes to how far we have to come in the music industry. The way writers are treated. How as an entertainer you are respected but as a writer you're walked all over. Even when you are both in one single body."
