Looking back now, 2012 was a bittersweet year in headlines, as the pop world experienced some huge tragedies and blissful news as well. There was also tons of controversy this year, including counts of unexplained physical violence, spoken-word feuds and scandalous reconciliations. After reminiscing about the good, bad and ugly of 2012, which story do you think had the biggest headline this year?

With every death comes new life, and such was the case in 2012, as we lost two musical greats but gained two possible future talents. The world was shocked and devastated by the deaths of vocal legend Whitney Houston and Beastie Boy Adam 'MCA' Yauch, who both tragically passed away in 2012 from substance and health-related problems, respectively.

But two shining moments are able to bring a smile back to our faces, as pop goddesses Adele and Beyonce both gave birth to their first children this year. Adele, who surprised everyone because no one even knew she was pregnant, and baby daddy Simon Gorecki welcomed their still anonymous baby son in October 2012, while Bey and Jay-Z had their baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, in January 2012.

Miley Cyrus also had some amazing news in 2012, when the 'Party in the U.S.A.' singer revealed that she and her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth were engaged to be married! Cyrus, who turned 20 in Nov. 2012, and her 'Hunger Games' actor fiance, 22, haven't set a date yet, but are expected to tie the knot as soon as their schedules calm down a bit. And aside from falling in and out of love a few times, Taylor Swift also had a great year, notching the biggest first sales week for her chart-topping 'Red' LP since 2002.

And now, here's where stuff gets a bit cray. In 2012, we saw Chris Brown and Drake get into a violent bottle fight in NYC, injuring a bunch of innocent bystanders in their line of fire. Then later on, we saw Breezy kissing his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, whom he brutally assaulted in 2009, on Instagram. THEN, everybody thought Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were broken up and the Internet went completely berserk, followed by British boy bands the Wanted and One Direction totally hating each other's guts. Oh, and lest we not forget Nicki Minaj going off on a cuss-filled tirade against Mariah Carey on the set of 'American Idol.'
