Jason Derulo has revealed that following the release of his sophomore album, 'Future History,' he plans on taking a break from music to focus on his movie career."Future History is my main focus right now," he tells MTV UK. "It’s the greatest accomplishment of my life so far. I really wanted to make sure it gets the exposure it deserves. It has to be heard by everybody. After this album, I will dive full-throttle into movies for a while. I will ultimately take a break from music."

According to the site, the singer-songwriter passed on a starring role as Jimi Hendrix in a forthcoming biopic about the legendary artist. While the recent opportunity wasn't in the cards, the R&B star says he intends on devoting more time to acting in the near future.

For the time being, however, the 'Don't Wanna Go Home' singer is channeling his efforts into his upcoming release, which is set to drop later this year. Ultimately, though, the multi-talented star wants to take the world by storm. "I just really want to continue on the same intensity of work ethic, I don’t want to slow now. I'm 21 years old and I feel like this era and a few years to come are my prime years, so I want to utilize them."
