Harry Potter fans itching for more information about J.K. Rowling's expertly crafted  wizarding world have already been gifted with the promise of an upcoming movie based on her Potter-adjacent book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But Rowling's taking things a step further by introducing a series of original stories in the interim.

They're called History of Magic in North America, and four are set to debut this week on Pottermore, the interactive hub of all things Harry Potter.

The series aims to “bring to light the history of this previously unexplored corner of the wizarding world,” according to the site. It also acts as an informative lead-up to the Fantastic Beasts movie, which isn't out until November.

History of Magic in North America will cover a wide array of topics, spanning the U.S.’s version of Hogwarts (called Ilvermorny), skin-walkers, the Salem witch trials and the U.S’s Ministry of Magic counterpart, known as the Magical Congress of the United States of America. Check out a trailer for the upcoming stories in the video above, via PEOPLE.

The stories will provide important background ahead of the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the plot of which follows character Newt Scamander — the fictional author behind the Hogwarts-required Fantastic Beasts book — who travels to New York City with a briefcase full of magical creatures that escape.

The first installment in Rowling's History of Magic in North America series is set to debut on Pottermore tomorrow (March 8) at 9AM EST, with a new story debuting on the site each day through Friday.
