Pharmacies may be closed or operating on limited hours on June 19.

USPS post offices will be closed on June 19 with no mail delivery or P.O. box services available until Friday, June 20.

Delivery services such as FedEX, UPS and Amazon are expected to be open and will operate normally.

What Is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth is also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day.

The holiday celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. It marks the date of June 19, 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Texas to announce that enslaved black Americans in the state were now free, according to the Emancipation Proclamation.
