Is Justin Bieber Working on New Music?
Justin Bieber won't be back in the studio any time soon.
The 24-year-old Canadian pop star is taking a break from the music business while he figures himself out and adjusts to married life, sources told People magazine. The musician, who wed model Hailey Baldwin in September 2018, is busy trying to find his footing.
"I wouldn't say he's unhappy, but he's unsettled," an insider told the outlet. "He is in love with Hailey and he's very happy about that. He knows he has achieved so much at a very young age. But I've seen this before, he's left with the feeling of 'Is this all there is?'"
Although sources previously revealed to People that Bieber was taking a timeout to spend time with Baldwin, 21, another anonymous informant said the "Sorry" singer's new wife isn't holding him back from working.
"He's happy and content," the source said. "He is in love with Hailey. She encourages him to do whatever he wants to do, and is encouraging him in this season of self-discovery."
Another source said Baldwin is "fine" with her husband stepping out of the spotlight for a moment, adding that she acknowledges "how hard" he's worked throughout his career.
"Hailey understands how hard Justin worked for so long, and is fine with him taking a break. If she has things she wants to do, Justin is fine with that," the source claimed. "There has been a little bit of conflict, but nothing out of the ordinary. They're still very much in love, and their families love each other. That's all that matters."
Bieber is feeling the pressure to create new music, and he's not taking it well.
"It actually bugs him when people ask when he's going back to the studio or on tour," the insider claimed. "He has worked for years, and the first time he takes a significant break, everyone's all, 'When's he coming back?' To Justin, those aren't just questions – those are demands. For years, everyone has tried to take a piece of him. Just let him be."
The award-winning artist is "grateful" for all that he has, but wants to be in a better place mentally before returning to work. According to the sources, this is something he's struggled with, and overcome, in the past.
"He is very much grateful for his amazing life and especially for Hailey," they explained. "It's difficult for him that he can't just enjoy everything and feel happy. He has been in treatment for this before."
