We kinda knew that 2015 American Music Awards closer Justin Bieber was going to put on some sort of spectacle for his finale performance this evening. We just didn't think it would be so... wet.

Looking casual-chic as he took to the stage in a hoodie, ripped jeans, and a baseball cap, the Canadian pop export kicked off his closing set with a low-key, acoustic guitar-assisted performance of his Purpose hit, "What Do You Mean?" Afterwards, he launched into a high energy dance routine, complete with a laser show, for his big EDM collab with Skrillex and Diplo, "Where Are U Now." Pretty standard pop performance fare, right?

Wrong.

After "What Do You Mean?" and "Where Are U Now," the polarizing pop star transitioned to a rain-soaked set to perform his current smash single "Sorry." And when we say rain-soaked, we literally mean RAIN-SOAKED.

Justin was singin' in the rain as he performed wet and wild choreography with a troupe of male and female dancers, the artist jumping in puddles, kicking up splashes of water, and standing under a torrential downpour as if to wash away the sins of his past. The whole thing was very (pardon the pun) splashy, and all that was missing was a slip 'n slide. Get into it, below:
