Three weeks -- that's all it took for Justin Bieber's first scent, Someday, which is fruity perfume designed for teen girls, to rake in $3 million in receipts at Macy's Herald Square, according to the New York Daily News. You might remember that the location was the site of a mob of teenage girls who showed up for a glimpse of their Canadian pop hero when he showed up to promote Someday for the first time.

The scent is off to such a running start that fragrance industry insiders predict that if it continues to sell at this clip, it will be the best selling aroma of 2011.

Karen Grant, an industry insider, told the beauty and fashion trade Women's Wear Daily that not since Glow, which was Jennifer Lopez's debut scent, and Curious, which was Britney Spears' first fragrance, has a celebrity perfume done this well in sales.

Macy's Inc. president and chairman Terry Lundgren said that the launch was bolstered by the Bieb's June 24 appearance at the store. Lundgren declared that Bieber's personal appearance "resonated with our customers and has become the biggest celebrity fragrance launch on record."

There was a bit of a fracas at the appearance, with some sources saying that the 'Baby' singer was knocked down. It turned out to be a typical Biebs appearance, where girls go nuts with excitement and mob mentality ensues.

Regardless though, the Biebs' handlers know a thing or two about marketing to his tween girl fanbase. The singer's 'One Less Lonely Girl' line of Nicole by OPI nail polishes sold out, and were so popular that the line was expanded and extended.

The Biebs has already conquered nail polishes and perfumes. We're foreseeing Bieber-branded lip glosses are on the horizon! We can't help but wonder if his gal pal Selena Gomez spritzes her pulse points with Someday before their dates.
