It's hard to believe with all of his success that Justin Bieber had never had Top 10 radio hit up until now. But it's true. He has just notched his very first Top 10 single with the blazing hot 'Boyfriend,' which shifted two spots from 12 to 10 on the Billboard airplay charts this week. Congrats, Biebs!

Billboard reports that his previous high water mark was No. 14, when 'One Time' topped out at that position in 2009. We know, we were shocked that 'Baby' and 'Never Say Never' didn't perform better on the radio charts, but then again, at the time, the singer didn’t need radio. He rose through the viral ranks of social media and reached his largely female fanbase that way.

But now he is at a different point in his career and radio is looked at as a key driver of the 'Boyfriend' and overall 'Believe' campaign. With the live debut of the song set for the season finale of 'The Voice,' The Biebs and 'Boyfriend' are positioning for continued increases.

The Biebs has had No. 1 records and sold millions, but he has yet to be fully embraced by radio. Once that happens, the sky is the limit for the teen. Do the math!

'Boyfriend' has sold 1.1 million downloads since it dropped on March 26.

The chart will be refreshed this Thursday, April 26. Hopefully, 'Boyfriend' will continue its ascent up the pop radio charts without any statistical setbacks. Beliebers should make it their mission to call local radio stations and request the song so it gets more spins.

Could 'Boyfriend' be his first No. 1? It's entirely possible.
