Katy Perry used Twitter to vent about and confirm her husband Russell Brand's deportation from Japan on Sunday. The pop singer had invited her partner to join her on her California Dreams Tour stops in Nagoya, Tokyo and Osa.

“So…my husband just got deported from Japan,' she wrote. "I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place."

Perry said that the deportation “was for priors from over 10 years ago," and despite being upset about the incident, the pop star said the show must go on “no matter the daily aftershocks or husband kidnapping.”

Although detained, Brand was still able to crack jokes on Twitter. "Planning escape from Japanese custody. It's bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick," he wrote along with a photo.

"Stockholm syndrome kicking in," he added. "Just asked my guard out for (vegetarian) sushi. He giggled."

Perry and Brand were married in Northern India in October. The comedian has struggled with drug addiction, and been arrested multiple times, most recently for an alleged attack on the paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport in September 2010.
