Starting today (April 5), eBay is working closely with EMI artists and songwriters to host a multi-week auction of rare items that will benefit the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Items up for action include concert tickets, backstage passes, autographed items, handwritten lyrics, CDs and much more. Exclusive tour apparel -- such as Katy Perry's cupcake trampoline from her California Dreams Tour and Chris Martin's jacket from Coldplay's Viva la Vida World Tour -- will be available, as well as rare items and awards, like Beastie Boys' Japanese MTV accolade and a rare copy of their BAPE dolls, autographed.

Artists supporting the appeal -- in addition to Perry, Coldplay, and the Beastie Boys -- include PopCrush favorites Good Charlotte, Kylie Minogue, Daft Punk, David Guetta, Duffy, 30 Seconds to Mars, Raphael Saadiq and Norah Jones, as well as others under the EMI label.

The auction will run in two overlapping phases, April 5 – 15 and April 11-21. The second set of items will be added periodically over the coming weeks.
