Kelly Clarkson Says She Loves ‘The Voice’ and Her ‘Little Oasis’ in Texas

Kelly Clarkson may be the original 'American Idol,' but the singer admits she is a sucker for 'The Voice,' which is her former show's biggest competition!

"I love 'The Voice.' Blake [Shelton] is a friend of mine, and he’s one of the judges, so I watched it for that, and then I fell in love with the show," Clarkson told Parade about her penchant for plopping on the couch and enjoying reality talent shows. But she insisted that even though she got sucked into 'The Voice,' she still watches 'Idol,' too.

Despite her fame and fortune, Clarkson, whose fifth album 'Stronger' debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts this week, said her biggest indulgence is her real estate in Texas, which also provides her with plenty of  happiness. "I just love land," she gushed."They don’t make it anymore! I grew up in an apartment, so 60 acres is a lot to me. We have rescue horses, goats, and donkeys. It’s my little oasis."

Clarkson also was not shy about admitting she is a true Texas gal, either. "I’m loyal and I think most Texans are very loyal, but I’m also stubborn," she said.

While her home, hearth and career are moving full speed ahead, Clarkson's love life is the one thing that's somewhat lacking. "Man, I just keep going on horrible dates," she admitted. "I’m like, 'There's not enough wine in the world for me to enjoy this.'"

Fame also has its disadvantages, especially when going on said horrible dates. Clarkson revealed, "I actually had a guy say to me — and I hope he sees this because he is so ridiculous — he said, 'I can't believe I’m on a date with Kelly Clarkson.' And under my breath I was like, 'Wow, I can’t either.'" Zing.

But the bad dates aren't deterring Clarkson from optimism about Mr. Right. She said, "Some days I think, 'I’ll meet him. Everybody finds somebody,' and other days I’m like, 'Maybe I won’t. Maybe I just missed the memo.'"

Our two cents? We think there's no way you won't, Kel! You are too freakin' adorable, sweet and talented. The right guy will show up when you're least expecting him!
