Only weeks following Grammy Award-winning EDM producer Zedd's public offer to work with Kesha amid her legal troubles with Sony, the DJ made good on his promise: On Saturday (April 16), during his set at Coachella, he brought her out onstage as a very special, very welcome guest.

While playing the sweeping title track off his 2015 sophomore album True Colors, Kesha joined the producer to provide — nay, slay — vocals on the song. With passionate oozing from every pore and fire crackling in her voice, the Tennessee-bred singer-songwriter's appearance was a triumphant and emotional return to the pop stage, the crowd cheering for each and every wail.

The rendition was perhaps elevated by lyrics that seemed to reflect the beloved "Die Young" singer's burning resilience through her ongoing battle with Dr. Luke: "A promise with the light, is broken by design / What we thought we knew, has been swallowed by the truth / It's time to light the flame, right before it rains / I'm not afraid, I'm not..."

Fans across Twitter are, of course, enthralled over the surprise performance, voicing their support and praising the pop star's vocals and moxie:

Hours before the performance, Kesha teased her Coachella appearance on Instagram with a photo of her getting ready to board a private jet. "Tonight has a magic to it," she said — a promise she most certainly kept.
