At this point in her career, Lady Gaga's name is practically synonymous with theatrical presentation. She's flawlessly rocked a dress made of raw meat, created a revolution with her "Bad Romance" and consistently upped her own standards. So when the singer announced she'll be appearing in Season 5 of American Horror Story we were convinced it's a perfect fit.

She's been doing this for a really long time.

For many, the legend of Gaga starts with her explosive "Just Dance," which was released in 2008. However, before that, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was a student at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.  Not only does she have an incredible knack for theater, but she's got the education to back it up. (Although she dropped out before completing her degree, she still studied the craft.)

Lady Gaga's pretty much fearless -- and we have the photos to prove it!

Acting is a vulnerable craft. Bringing an eccentric role to life -- which is what we expect she'll be doing in American Horror Story -- is downright terrifying. One of our favorite qualities about Mother Monster, however, is that she isn't afraid to tackle anything.

When Gaga burst onto the scene, she was a glittery, spontaneous package of perfect pop and provocative outfits. A dress made entirely of Kermit the Frog heads? Check. Arriving to the 2011 Grammys in an egg? No big deal. She's willing to commit to her art and we can't wait to see how this will translate to her acting.

 Her music videos are iconic.

Forget setting her songs to a montage of fan-submitted footage. Each Lady Gaga music video (or short film, in some cases), is a masterpiece. From the dramatic "Paparazzi" to the innovative "Bad Romance" to the iconic "Telephone," each project paints the singer in a new light. She assumes a new role for each video, committing to the part and utterly transforming herself. It's incredible to see and we're sure it's no easy feat.

Her effortlessness is a huge indicator that she'll be amazing on American Horror Story. Lady Gaga is believable in any role. We don't have to question her ability to step out of her comfort zone or to channel her character. She's spent years proving to the world that she was born to do this.

She's done this before -- sorta.

Although she's never played a role on TV before, Lady Gaga has dabbled in film before. Aside from her charming cameo in 2014's Muppets Most Wanted, Gaga also appeared as a waitress in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. The role was small, but during her time on-screen, we quickly forgot that Lady Gaga was, well, Lady Gaga. You can watch her cameo in the video below.

Of course, Sin City is its own distinct world, much like AHS. If Mother Monster can transform herself into a realistic waitress than we have no doubt that she's prepared for whatever the hit TV show has in store.

No one pushes Lady Gaga harder than Lady Gaga.

From day one, the singer has always raised the bar on her performances, appearances and music. Whether she's too busy to answer her "Telephone" or duetting classic tunes with Tony Bennett, we've learned to expect the unexpected.

Most recently, Gaga blew fans and critics away with her incredible medley of songs from The Sound of Music during the 2015 Oscars. Stripped of theatrics and left only with her incredible vocal prowess, Mother Monster proved that she's got raw talent. It's a move that few could predict, but that was universally praised.

We have complete faith that whatever her American Horror Story role is, Lady Gaga will continue to up the ante, proving once again that she's one of the greatest stars of her time. And after her tenure on AHS is over? Well, we expect something even more epic from Lady Gaga.
