Lady Gaga takes her Little Monsters to the desert in the high-octane music video for "Perfect Illusion," the lead single from her forthcoming fifth studio album, Joanne.

Gaga filmed the visual for her lead single, styled by longtime collaborator Brandon Maxwell, in the desert outside Los Angeles over two days, according to Page Six. The video originally premiered tonight (Sept. 20) during FOX's premiere of Season 2 of Scream Queens.

As opposed to some of Gaga's more cinematic, over-the-top visual Reverse Warholian Experiences in the past, the "Perfect Illusion" video sees the genre-hopping singer-songwriter stripping it down in the sand for a much more raw, microphone-flinging affair that matches the track's rock-inspired, unhinged tone. Gaga's going positively gaga in her cut-offs — just look at her eyes rolling back in her head.

Mosh out those emotions, Mother Monster — and watch out for cameos from collaborators Mark Ronson, Bloodpop, and Kevin Parker.

In interviews leading up to the music video's release, Gaga revealed that "Perfect Illusion" is about the "illusion that people have of me every day...and I think that that's transferred to everyone with social media. Now we all have these perfect illusions that we get to create on our different accounts and you feel like you've got to live up to that in real life," Gaga explained to Shade 45's Sway Calloway, according to Billboard.

Joanne will be released on October 21. The deluxe and standard editions of the album are now available to pre-order.
