It seems Lady Gaga is heading back to her experimental electro-pop roots.

Artist and producer SOPHIE, who has worked with the likes of Madonna and Charli XCX, announced that she is indeed working with Gaga on her new album, confirming rumors that have been circulating for weeks.

In a video shared on social media, a fan was filmed asking SOPHIE about the rumors of a collab, to which she replied, "Yes...I mean, whatever. I work on a lot of different things. If it comes out, that's cool. But you just never know. But yeah, [Gaga's] a cool person."

Watch the encounter, below:

On June 15, SOPHIE released her album, Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides, a collection of glistening, hyper-charged synth-pop.

Hopefully, the collaboration means we'll hear Gaga return to the avant-garde, neon-hued electro-pop of albums like The Fame and ARTPOP.

Meanwhile, LG6 isn't the only album the pop star is working on. According to Forbes, Gaga will also contribute songs to the soundtrack album for her and Bradley Cooper's upcoming film, A Star Is Born.

She's also been spotted in the studio with Tony Bennett, meaning a second collaboration album could be on the horizon.
