The impact of David Bowie's artistic legacy truly cannot be stressed enough.

In the past few days, we've seen an incredible outpouring of love for the late icon from dozens of pop stars who count Bowie as a major inspiration for their own artistry, including the Queen of Pop herself: Madonna.

After penning a heartfelt tribute to Bowie on her Facebook and posting several tribute photos on Instagram, the Rebel Heart superstar opted to show her appreciation for Bowie's contributions by launching into a live cover of "Rebel Rebel" during the Houston stop of her Rebel Heart Tour last night (January 12).

"I want to pay tribute to a man who inspired my career...he was one of the geniuses in the music industry, one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the 20th century and he changed my life when I went to see him in concert in Detroit," she explained to the crowd. "He showed me it was okay to be different. And he's the first Rebel Heart that I laid eyes on, so I think we should just get this party started!"

Backed by photos of Bowie on the stage screens, Madge then tore into the 1974 classic — a fitting choice for the theme of the tour, no doubt — thrashing all over the stage as the crowd enthusiastically sang along.

After the show, Madonna posted some powerful photos of her performance on Instagram. "Paying Tribute to My Favorite Rebel! In Houston‼️ Thank you!..........David Bowie," she wrote.

Icon recognizing icon. Bowie forever.
