With her first fragrance Truth or Dare due in April, Madonna is already primed to take the next step with her MG Icon brand … literally. Madge will launch a line of footwear, also named Truth or Dare, the fall.

According to WWD, the shoes will be created under a licensing deal with Aldo Group, Inc. The first collection will offer 60 styles, ranging from flats to heels to booties to over-the-knee boots, with studding and cap-toe details factoring prominently into the design. Price points fall between $89 and $349. Clearly, there is something for every fan who wants to emulate Madonna's signature style, as the line's target customer is between 27 and 50 years of age.

The Material Girl's stylist Arianne Phillips will act as a creative consultant to the line, with input direct from Madge herself. What, you thought Madonna would slap her name onto a line of shoes and not have some say in how it looks? Shame on you. She will also appear in print and online ads that debut next month, so she will be intrinsically involved in and attached to the campaign.

“Her fingers are really on this brand,” Phillips said. “The first thing I did was remind her of all the shoes she wore over the years, and we took the styles that we can’t live without. You can always depend on her to bring her style and provocateur quality, but she also has a very feminine perspective.”

The shoes will be available at Macy's, with whom Madonna partnered for her Material Girl teen line that launched in 2010 with design help from her teenage daughter Lourdes, as well as at Nordstrom and Asos.com.

While the shoes don't land at retail for several months, Madonna and her back up dancers will wear modified versions of the shoe looks on her worldwide tour which launches in late May. Now that's how you make a first impression.

In keeping with MG Icon's strike-while-the-iron-is-hot mentality, Madonna will follow up the shoe line with a collection of intimates, which will also launch in 2012. Legwear and additional accessories are on tap for 2013.

The blueprints of a fashion empire are in place it seems!
