It's been a long few years between new albums for Madonna fans, but she's back in the studio working on the follow-up to 2008's 'Hard Candy' -- and according to producer William Orbit, the new music will be well worth the wait.

Tweeting from the New York City studio where he's manning the boards for Madge, Orbit told followers, "Madonna has phenomenal understanding of both the minutiae of music and the big picture. Zooming in, zooming out. 4ever amazing. Plus VISION!!! Working with Madonna is a treat. Fantastic tracks and vibes. Going deep. She's ON IT !!! This is THE album!"

Further demonstrating his excitability, Orbit later shared a few weather-related exclamation points. "WOWOWOWOW just looked out the window here in NY and IT's SNOWING !!!!! A Fairy Tale in New York but Hot Hot Hot in the studioooooo."

Aside from the involvement of Orbit, who produced Madonna's hit 'Ray of Light' album in 1998, not many details have leaked regarding the new CD -- but recently, it was revealed that her performance at the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show could include a new track, 'Give Me All Your Love,' featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

On the non-musical front, 2011 has been a very busy year for Madonna, including the debut of the Material Girl clothing line (designed with her daughter, Lourdes) and the festival debut of her second film as a director, 'W.E.' For most of her fans, though, it's the music that matters -- and with the new album's lead-off single reportedly due in February, they won't have to wait much longer to hear it.
