Madonna’s ‘Rebel Heart Tour’ Live DVD (Finally) Gets a Release Date
Time goes by so slowly for those who wait: Madonna's Rebel Heart Tour special aired on Showtime nearly six months ago. And now, at long last, a new version of the concert film is being prepped for DVD release on September 15 — along with a live album.
Madonna: Rebel Heart Tour will be released by Eagle Vision across several formats, including digital download, DVD and Blu-ray, "complete with bonus content" according to the official press release. (No word yet on whether that bonus content includes a special shout-out to Patti Lupone.)
The live Rebel Heart album will feature 22 songs from the tour available for double CD and digital download.
Co-directed by Danny Tull and Nathan Rissman, the tour film features both live tapings of the concert from across the world and behind-the-scenes footage, plus "previously unreleased footage culminating with performances at the Qudos Bank Arena (formerly known as the Allphones Arena) in Sydney, Australia in March of 2016."
The official DVD artwork (above) was designed by a fan, @_AldoDiaz.
The Rebel Heart Tour grossed over $169 million, continuing to further Madonna's reign as the top grossing touring female artist in Billboard history.
Pre-order information will be coming soon.
