Madonna Sued Over ‘Vogue’ Sample

Madonna is being sued, you guys! The Material Girl is embroiled in some legal drama over her song 'Vogue,' which came out like, when dinosaurs were roaming the Earth. We're no lawyers (in our heads we're totally Elle Woods though), but hasn't the statute of limitations expired on this sort of thing since it's really old? No? Anybody? Bueller?

VMG Salsoul, a record company, filed the lawsuit against Madonna in Los Angeles and claimed that the horns and strings she used in 'Vogue' were actually taken from Salsoul Orchestra's 1977 dance song 'Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It).' We don't know who they are either, it's okay.

They claim that Madonna never paid to use the samples or ask permission or what have you, and say that the reason it took so long to file the suit was because the similarities were hard to determine. Mhmm. But thanks to recent technology, they were able to "isolate and identify the sounds."
