Mariah Carey Blogs About Favorite Baby Shower Gift

Over the weekend, Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon attended her baby shower held at the Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, which was transformed into a pink and blue wonderland for the special event, as the singer is expecting both a girl and a boy later this summer.

Carey took to her Website Monday morning to blog about her gratitude for those who attended and helped celebrate the upcoming arrival of their miracles.

“Thank you SO much to all who came to the baby shower last night [March 6] and all who couldn't be there but sent such beautiful presents and sweet messages,” she wrote. “Still haven't really opened all the gifts, but seeing so many people who came from all over the world to be there with us was the BEST gift we could ask for!”

Of the presents she has opened, Carey has fallen in love with a particular book that she is anxious to share with her little ones.

“The ‘Always Be My Babies Lamb Book’ is definitely my new prized possession and I can't thank the Lambs around the world enough for your letters & well wishes,” Carey, who often calls her most dedicated fans “lambs,” wrote.

The book cover is illustrated with a blue and a pink baby carriage, along with family photos of Carey and Cannon. It was created using short letters and poems her fans wrote to the babies.

“FYI – we so had a 'moment' in the middle of the shower when they presented the book to me and everyone thought it was the cutest, most thoughtful thing ever!” Carey recalled. “Clearly, only the Lambs would swing something like that home!!! It was the best moment of the night. I can't wait for the twins to read the messages and feel the love!!!”

Carey brought her letter to an end, once again thanking those closest to her for making the day one to remember. “Again, thank you so much to our friends and family for making it an unforgettable experience. Love ya much always!! xoxo Mimi & Nick.”
