Is there a Christmas song on this planet greater than Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’? We’re pretty sure the answer to that incredibly important question is a resounding "no." Nothing sends us further into a holiday fervor than hearing those opening bell chimes, followed by Mariah's totally unmatched vocals. We can smell the seasonal peppermint hot chocolate just thinking about it.

Thankfully for us, Mariah treated us to a live rendition of the song during tonight’s (Dec.3 ) airing of the 'Christmas in Rockefeller' television special where they show the lighting of the iconic New York City Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

Dressed in a long, glittery red gown, Mariah was totally in the holiday spirit as she sang her modern classic. A group of child dancers accompanied her in the background, dressed head-to-toe in all-white outfits like flittering snowflakes.

After Mariah's performance, Matt Lauer said: “You’re probably going to hear 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' at every holiday party this season," and the only real response we have to that statement is "We sure hope so."

Check out Mariah's performance above and let us know how you feel! Is 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' the greatest holiday song of all time? If not, what would be your pick? If it isn't Fall Out Boy's 'Yule Shoot Your Eye Out' we're not sure what else you could possibly choose, but we're certainly open to suggestions.
