'The Glee Project' contestant Marissa von Bleicken hails from New York City, so she's no stranger to bright lights and big city attitudes.

Not only that, she's a skilled actress, singer, dancer, designer and artist, and has been appearing in commercials professionally for the past 12 years. Clearly, this redhead already knows the biz, so it's no surprise that her Myspace video audition was picked out of the 34,000 submissions. The question now is whether or not the still-in-her-teens spunky Nor'easter has what it takes to appear on 'Glee' as a running character!

Marissa will go head-to-head this summer against 11 other contestants as they flaunt their skills for a big prize: A seven episode recurring role on the hit FOX series, 'Glee.'

Last week, the bright, young New Yorker joined Twitter as a means to push fans towards 'Team Marissa,' in hopes that a rise in social media popularity would bleed onto her success in the show. "Yes, @TheGleeProject, you have truly changed my life! Look at me, twittering like the rest of the world now!" she tweeted on April 29.

Certainly, her newfound Twitter followers and obvious sense of humor will help her stand her ground on the Project.

'The Glee Project' kicks off June 12 on Oxygen.
