Maroon 5 lit up New York City's Rockefeller Center Monday morning, Sept. 1, as they performed a few songs for fans in advance of the Sept. 2 release of the 'V' album.

The band first played the first single off the 'V' album, 'Maps,' and after a commercial break, they performed one of their favorites, 'One More Night.'

Levine spoke to 'The Today Show' about 'V,' their fifth studio album, and described it as a combination of a lot of things that they've done before.

"I think it's everything we've always been, all wrapped up in one which is kind of nice," the band frontman said. "I'm most excited about this [album] because it's going to be amazing and everyone seems to love it so far. The songs are really fun to play live."

He also went on to hint that a major announcement would be coming on the album's release date about a new tour.
