Musician Richard Marx Takes Down Violent Passenger During Chaotic Flight, Twitter Reacts
Musician Richard Marx sprang into action when he was forced to assist flight crew to restrain an unruly passenger during a chaotic plane ride on December 20.
While on board a Korean Air flight from Vietnam to South Korea, Marx and his wife, former MTV VJ Daisy Fuentes, were caught up in a scuffle when a passenger seated near them became violent and reportedly began attacking the flight crew and fellow travelers.
Fuentes was able to capture photos and video of the incident, which she then shared on Instagram, writing, "On our flight from Hanoi to Seoul a guy sitting in the next row from us got crazy & started attacking the flight attendants & passengers. When he started pushing the female staff and pulling them by the hair @therichardmarx was the first to help subdue him. This went on for FOUR hrs. I feel horrible for the abuse the staff had to endure but no one was prepared for this. They never fully got control of him..."
Marx also shared photos from the event on his own Twitter, where he claimed that the flight crew were overall "completely ill trained" to handle the frightening situation.
Meanwhile, reactions from the public on Twitter have ranged from impressed to amused to nostalgic to surprised—the latter mostly in regards to the fact that many apparently did not know Marx and Fuentes had wed.
