Rick Springfield, who topped the charts in the '80s with his hit single 'Jessie's Girl' was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Sunday night while driving his 1963 Corvette in Malibu, Calif.

Springfield was initially pulled over for a traffic violation but was asked to take a breathalyzer test and perform a few field sobriety tests when police officers detected the smell of alcohol coming from his breath. The 61-year-old's blood alcohol content measured at .10, above California's legal limit of .08.

"He made a maneuver away from the light and it prompted [officers] to stop and pull him over," said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

The singer-actor was booked at a local jail and was later released on $5,000 bond. His first court appearance on the matter has been scheduled for July 5.
