Rihanna made an appearance on tonight's episode of 'American Idol,' performing her new softly sexy rock ballad, 'California King Bed.' With her wild mane of flame-hued curls and a ruched, rose-hued strapless gown, RiRi showed us her vulnerable side and even played air guitar for a second during her performance.

The Barbados-born singer was a ravishing vision, performing among dancers and an airy canopy, which is a stark contrast to the overtly sexual and fierce image she has put forth in the past several weeks with her scantilly-clad Rolling Stone cover and the Britney Spears-assisted remix of her No. 1 hit 'S&M,' which references whips and chains in the lyrics. It was a refreshing change of pace to see this 'Good Girl Gone Bad' tone it down and give us a glimpse of another facet of her dynamic personality. She made us want to cuddle up next to her in her -- er -- California king bed.

Rihanna also revealed that her upcoming 'Loud' tour will allow for some fan participation of sorts. Apparently, there will be super VIP seats, where fans are so close to the stage that they will actually be part of the show! If you want to get up close and personal with one of pop's favorite princesses, that's certainly the way to do it. RiRi's tour kicks off this June.
