Shine bright like a...you know.

While the wait for Rihanna's eighth album has begun to feel like slow, precise torture, the "FourFiveSeconds" singer certainly delivered on the style front last night (December 10) at the second annual Diamond Ball in Santa Monica, California.

The celeb gala found her dressed in what she told Entertainment Tonight was a replica of a Dior original pattern from "many, many decades ago." And while the gold gown dazzled in photographs, RiRi said the spirit of the evening was what was most illuminating. The event, produced in honor of Rihanna's late grandmother Clara Braithwaite, supports the singer's Clara Lionel Foundation, which works to provide aid for global communities in need of access to health, education and arts enrichment. And as far as Rihanna's concerned, the woman would have been proud.

"She is definitely here in spirit and she feels delighted to be a part of such a great cause, raising money in her honor, to help, save and change many lives," she said.

And while Clara was surely missed, her spirit was alive in Rihanna's younger cousin, who put on quite a production on the red carpet, according to the singer.

"Majesty is a feisty one," she noted. "Just like all the women in my family, she already has her personality. It's so cute."
