Rihanna, ‘We Found Love’ Feat. Calvin Harris – Song Review

Rihanna exclaims 'We Found Love' in her new single, which surfaced this morning, three weeks ahead of schedule.

The celebratory song boasts a light, breezy melody and lyrics about a couple who make love out of nothing at all.

RiRi sings, "Shine a light through an open door / Love and life I will divide / Turn away cause I need you more / Feel the heartbeat in my mind / It's the way I'm feeling I just can't deny / But I've gotta let it go."

"We found love in a hopeless place," Rihanna repeats throughout the song, which deftly incorporates electronic synth accents into its pop arrangement.

Calvin Harris gets featured credit on the track, though he only appears behind the scenes as the song's producer. Harris tweeted that Rihanna sounds like an angel on the song, and we're inclined to agree.

'We Found Love' is danceable but feels much brighter than a typical club banger, which makes it an ideal choice to preview the singer's next record, which drops on Nov. 21.
