Something messy must have gone down between exes Rita Ora and Calvin Harris for him to put a stop to her 2014 Teen Choice Awards performance.

The 23-year-old British pop singer was scheduled to sing her single ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ at the TCAs this past Sunday, Aug. 10. The day before, Aug. 9, Rita tweeted an apology following the announcement that her spot at the show was cancelled last minute.

Rumors popped up immediately blaming her ex-boyfriend for the sudden withdrawal. As the producer and songwriter of the song, Calvin must approve use of it in any TV performance — and apparently, this was one TV spot he didn’t want happening!

Rita confirmed as much when she sat down with Ryan Seacrest, adding that she wasn’t surprised by Calvin’s decision.

“We put a lot of effort and work into the show,” she lamented. “Every time I do a show, I rehearse about a month in advance, and, you know, I could have got told a few weeks earlier! That would have been nice.”

She continued, “It was a last minute change, but you know what, it happens, and we move on, we move forward.”

Who knows what happened between the former couple! Rita, at least, seems to be moving on with a positive attitude, judging by her mostly friendly responses to Ryan’s questions about Calvin. To see her full interview, check out the video above.
