‘Never Ever': Royksopp Reunites With Susanne Sundfor for Instant Disco-Pop Smash

For Röyksopp, it was never really the end.

While the electro-pop duo might have formally bid adieu to the formal release process, closing a door on the traditional album with 2014's The Inevitable End, they're going just as strong as ever on the singles front. Case in point? "Never Ever," their euphoric, club-ready collaboration with fellow Norwegian singer-songwriter, Susanne Sundfor, out today (September 9).

The last few times the parties linked up, somber sounds ensued, including the mesmerizing "Running To The Sea" and "Save Me." This time around, they're in a much different state of mind — and they just want to get to know you better on the dance floor.

"I've been dying to see you, hoping for a chance to talk / I really wanna be near you / Tell you how I feel inside," Susanne sings across the '80's leaning, club-friendly pulsations.

It plays like the robo-banger we didn't get from Robyn this year, crossed with some of Carly Rae Jepsen-meets-PC Music's sugary-sweet glitchy pop confections. It's instant disco-pop bliss, with all the dreamy electro-nuances of a Röyksopp production — and that stuttering beat breakdown of a bridge is the fierce, armography-ready cherry on top.

Fifteen years deep into the game, and Röyksopp have never ever sounded better.
